About Me

Kunle Ogunfuyi: is a Nigerian based award winning photojournalist/ documentary photographer. Haven worked as the Photo Editor of National Pride Magazine from 2006-2007, he resigned and established his photography enterprise ‘HODIMAGES’ with the aim to document and stock images for local and global imaging market. He later joined THISDAY group in 2007. Early 2009, He was selected among the fifteen emerging African photographers by Noor|Nikon Documentary Photography Project team. Same year, He received the Society of Nigeria Artists, Pa Ojekere Award for Photography with his Photo series titled “Oko Baba”. 2010, he bagged the Art & Culture humanitarian Icon Award by Ojojo Signature Gallery and was published among 101 Nigerian Artists by Ben Bosah Books. 2011, he was presented with a recognition award by the New York Institute of Photography, USA. 2012, He won the most outstanding photograph of the year at the 2nd edition of the Nigeria Photography Awards from his body of work ‘Lagos Survival’, haven bagged best in documentary photography same night...

Bronze Casting in Benin city, Edo State

Binin City the capital of Edo State in Nigeria hold claim to aged craft in bronze casting. Over the years, bronze casting has being pass down from one generation to another among the people of Igun compound( now, Igun street). The craft was initially performed by the people in a form regarded as "court art" which was due to its nature of operation. The craft men were invited to the palace for brief on what is require of them by the Oba and forge ahead to execute their assignment in a group . The oba was the custodian of the craft then. But in modern days, the art of Bronze casting has being commercialized. the production ground of it remain on Igun street which is about a kilo meter from the Oba's palace.

Late Chief MKO Abiola, was a Nigerian-International business guru and a pillar of modern democracy in Nigeria. He won the 1993 presidential election which was later annulled by General Ibrahim Babangida while he was the then military president. He was detained haven declared himself as the president. He died in detention, till date, the election is regarded as the only free and fair election in the history of Nigeria. Lagos State Government dedicate a park in his memory.
